      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (2571) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1898) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The histology of the gonadal development of Gymnocypris selincuoensis , an endemic fish in Selincuo Lake, Northern Tibet , was studied. The development of ovary and testis was composed of Ⅵstages . The oogenesis was composed of 5 phases : 1. oogonia; 2. oocyte with follicular epithelium consisting of single layer of follicle cells; 3. oocyte with vesicles; 4. oocyte filled with yolk; 5. mature oocyte. In the later phase 2 of development of oocytes , the yolk nucleus , which was probably related to the formation of yolk , broke up and formed a ring in the outer cortex. From the later phase 2 to the middle phase 3 of development of oocytes , the nucleolar bodies extruded into cytoplasm nucleolar bodies with cytoplasm would helpful to the process of yolk formation. From the phase 2 to the early phase 4 of oocytes , there was a transparent layer in the outboard of nuclear membrane. From the early phase 3 of oocyte , between oocyte membrane and follicular layer presented zona radiata which is mostly formed by oocyte. After spawning , a few mature oocytes became astrophied and were re2absorbed subsequently in ovary. The spawning season which was evidenced by histology of oocytes and investigation of field work, extends from early April to early August. In a reproductive season, the ovary of selincuo naked carp matured only once in a year.

    • Ultrastructure of compound eye in zoaea of Eriocheir sinensis

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1935) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1674) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The fine structure of zoaea compound eye of Eriocheir sinensis was studied by electron microscope. The results showed that the shape of the compound eye changed with developing of the larvae from zoaea I to zoaea V. The surface area of the compound eye increased from 15400μm2 in zoaea I to 0. 4mm 2 in zoaea V. The shape of an ommatidium like a bubble in zoaea I changed into a hexagon in zoaea II. The dioptre part of an ommatidium , including corea , corneagenous cell and cone cell , under goes a development and a mature in zoaea stage. Theeightretinularcells, whichcomposedthesensatepartofanommatidium, weredividedintodistalpart (one cell) and proximal part (seven cells) . The diameter of the rhabdom increased from 3. 6μmto 5.3μm with the development of the zoaea to fellow a multiplying of quantity of the microvillus. A large number of Golgi bodies are a feature of the structure of a retinular cell in zoaea. The number and the kind of the organelles in the cell increase with the developing of the zoaea. In zoaea V an ommatidium has a structure similar to adult in light adaptation. The fine structure indicates that zoaea larvae obtains the function of the light sensation gradually.

    • Effects of 4-androstene-3, 17-dine and 17α-methyl-testosteroneon testosterone and 17β-estradiol levels inthe serum of Anguilla japonica

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (2240) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1975) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The effects of ADSD and MT via implantation on testosterone (T)and 17β -estradiol (17β -E2)levels in the serum of Japanese eel , Anguilla japonica were examined .In the female eel , serum T and 17β -E2 levels were significantly increased after implantation of ADSD , and then decreased gradually .With increasing times of implantation of ADSD , serum T levels on the 15th day after implantation decreased , whereas serum 17β -E2 levels rose .Implantation of MT decreased the serum T levels and increased serum 17β -E2 levels of female eels as compared to the controls .In the male eel , serum T and 17β-E2 levels on the 15th day after implantation of ADSD rose gradually with increasing times of implantation .Serum T levels on the 15th day after implantation of MT also rose with increasing times of implantation , however , significantly higher serum 17β -E2 level was observed only on the 15th day after third implantation of MT .The result suggested that the effects of ADSD or MT via implantation on T and 17β -E2 level in the serum of Japanese eel were sex dependent .

    • The relationships between Ca2+ , 17β-estradiol levels inthe hemolymph and precociousness of Eriocheir sinensis

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1839) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1615) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The gonadal development of Chinese mitten2handed crab ( Eriocheir sinensis) is correlative with the Ca2 + level in the hemolymph. For the one autumn Chinese mitten2handed crab (so called buttony crab) , the hemolymph Ca2 level of the precocious female buttony crab is much higher than that of the normal female buttony crab (21. 25 ±11. 89 mmol ·L -1 for the former and 13. 70 ±1. 17 mmol ·L -1 for the latter) . On the contrary , the hemolymph Ca2 level of the precocious male buttony crab is only 16. 33 ±1. 38 mmol·L -1, which is lower than that of 20. 13 ±2. 37mmol ·L -1 of the normal male buttony crab. The Ca2 level in the hemolymph of male adult crab (two autumn crab) is almost the same as that of the male precocious buttony crab. With the growing and maturating , the hemolymph 17β2estradiol (17β2E2) concentration of the female crab rises gradually , 0. 15 ±0. 05ng·ml -1 for the normal female buttony crab , 0. 59 ±0. 15ng·ml -1 for the precocious female buttony crab and 2. 31 ±1. 08ng·ml -1 for the female adult crab (two autumn crab) , respectively.

    • Growth characteristics of releasing Penaeus orientalisin the Mindong waters

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1860) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1545) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The growth characteristics of releasing Penaeus orientalis in the Mindong waters was studied in this paper. The results show that releasing P. orientyalis in the Mindong waters has difference in the growth between females and males, like it in the Bohai Sea. The males grew more quickly than the females, but the body size of females could grow larger than that of males. The body weight of the released shrimp was larger than the natural P . orientalis living in the Bohai Sea at same body length. The inflexion of the weight growth was about 102 days. Thus, it would be a proper date to start f ishing in the mid-July that was suggested.

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1917) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1535) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper studies on juvenile crab. 30 metric parameters representing morphological characters were measured and then analyzed comprehensively by the cluster analysis and the stepwise discrimination. (1) The results of cluster analysis shows : The morphology of juvenile Chinese mitten crab from Yangtze river is much similar to that from Oujiang river , but quite different from that of Liaohe river’s. (2) The result of stepwise discrimination based on 14 morphological parameters shows there is a significant difference among the populations ofjuvenilecrabfromthreerivers (P<0.01),thecorrectratesofdiscriminationare: 81.4%~88.4% (P1) and 82. 5% ~ 91. 4 % ( P2) . The discriminating efficiency is Liaohe > Oujiang > Yangtze. The average fitted probability is 85. 5 %. (3) The discriminant analysis , based on further selected 9 morphological parameters , with better contributions to the identification , give less average fitted probability -80. 4 % , but decrease the work amount in measurement and calculation significantly (36 %) , which is highly recommended to application in juvenile crab study.

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (2143) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1771) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Recombinant positive clones containing microsatellite sequences of Chinese shrimp , Peneaus chinensis were obtained through rapid screening small -size fractionated genomic libraries with PCR technique. The primers used in PCR were T7/ Sp6 promotor primers located at both sides of multiple clone site of pGEM -3zf (+ ) and STR primers : STR1 : 5’-ATATATATATATAT -3’and STR2:5’-TCTCTCTCTCTCTC -3’ designed according to core repeats motifs of microsatellites. The bacterial suspensions were directly used in PCR, before which a short time period of high temperature (95 ℃) was kept to break bacteria. The recombinant positive clones containing microsatellite squences were obtained by screening and were verified after sequencing. The results show that PCR technique combined with bacterial suspension for rapid screening recombinant positive clones containing microsatellite squences is feasible and this method also has advantages of concenience , quickness , high efficiency and reliable outcome.

      Abstract (2054) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1822) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The paper was to investigate the control of sexual differentiation by oral administration of varying doses of 17β2estradiol ( E2) in juvenile grey mullet , Mugil cephalus with sexual undifferentiation. The results indicated that the grey mullets in the high dosage group were induced to be all2female , and 90 % of the juvenile grey mullets in the low dosage group differentiated into female. The control group differentiated into all2males . Sexual differentiation into females occured significantly earlier than in males. The residue level and residue time of 17β2 estradiol were low and short in the muscle and gut of grey mullets.

    • Effect of feeding Haliotis diversicolor aquatilis with photosynthetic bacteria liquor soaked with Laminaria japonica and Gracilaria sp.

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1921) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1694) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The experiment is conducted on the effects of the difference densities and time spans of photosynthet ic bacteria liquor soaked with Laminaria japonica and Gracilaria sp. on the growth of two different sizes of Haliotis diversicolor aquatilis . The result shows that the effects of photosynthetic bacteria on the growth vary w ith different densities and time spans of photosynthetic bacteria liquor soaked with Laminaria japonica and Gracilaria sp. . The greater the density and the longer the soaking time the more apparent the effect is on the growth of Haliotis diversicolor aquatilis. The average growth rates of the shell of Haliotis diversicolor aquatilis in the experimental groups w ith 150 @ 10- 6( V/ V) and 3-4h or 200 @ 10-6 ( V/ V) and 2-3h of photosynthetic bacteria liquor soaked w ith Laminaria japonica and Gracilaria sp. is at least 5% higher than that of the control group. The largest one can be 11. 5% higher ( P< 0. 05) .

      Abstract (1887) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1787) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The distribution of Penaeus monodon baculovirus (MBV) in different parts of mid2gut gland in juvenile and adult shrimp Penaeus monodon was studied by light microscopy. The mid2gut gland of Penaeus monodon can be divided into five parts including head part , subhead part , mid part , subtail part and tail part. The cells of mid2 gut gland can be divided into E cell , R cell , B cell and F cell . The E cell was the main cells of the head part and the tail part. R cell was the main cells of the subhead part , the mid part and the subtail part. In the cases that infected lightly with MBV , only R cell , B cell and F cell were infected. In the cases that infected severely with MBV , besides R cell , B cell and F cell , E cell also was infected. Both juvenile and adult P. monodon , MBV distributed mainly in the mid part of mid2gut gland and especially in the middle of mid part . The farther apart from the mid part , the lower the MBV infection rate was.

    • Physiological effects of seawater treated by ozone on Chlorella sp.

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1898) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1840) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Effects of seawater treated by ozone on reproduction, chlorophyl-l a content, DNA and RNA content in Chlorella sp. were studied. Meanwhile, NH+ 4-N, NO-2 -N and NO-3 -N content in the seawater were analyzed. The results showed as follow s: 1. A certain concentrat ion of ozone treatment could increase reproduction and chlorophyl-l a content, but higher concentration of ozone treatment could inhibit repraduction of Chlorella sp. . 2. DNA content showed relative stability, RNA content was more sensitive to ozone treatment than DNA content, and ozone treatment could increase RNA content. 3. NH 4-N and NO- 2-N content in seawater by ozone treated decreased, while NO- 3-N content increased compared with that in control seawater.

    • Effects of benzo(a)pyrene exposure on aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylaseactivities in the liver of Boleophthalmus pectinirostris

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (1814) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1563) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Changes of aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase(AHH) activities in the liver of Boleophthalmus pectinirostris with benzo ( a ) pyrene ( BaP) exposure were detected in experimental condition. The results showed that the activities of AHH were significantly induced by BaP ( P < 0. 01) . Factors including BaP concentration and exposure time had important effect on AHH activities. The activities of AHH decreased to the control level after BaP was removed. It turned out that the physiological modulatary mechanism was still exist in the liver of B. pectinirostris and the activities of AHH could reflect the level of BaP in the environment. All of the results showed that AHH was suitable to be the bioindicator of BaP exposure.

      2001, 25(2).

      Abstract (2188) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (2108) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Protamine may have a weak inhibitive action on the respiratory system of bacterium which is not the main function to inhibit the bacterium activity. The inhibitive activity of protamine on bacteria might be mainly due to polyarginine in protamine moleculer or the combination of polyargainine and some amino acids with the cell wall of bacterium in certain form or structure to destruct the formation of cell wall.
