    Abstract:

The paper deals with the effects of PH (6. 5, 7.5 and 8. 5)and Ca2+ concentration(38.8, 61.1 and 78.8 ppm)on the growth and energy budget of a freshwater shrimp Macrobrachium nipguense. The results showed that PRvalue affected the growth of the shrimp, and there was interaction between PH and Ca2+ concentration in the process.PH and Ca2+ affected their growth throughaffecting mainly on their energy consumption.Under the experiment condition.the energy fed by the shrimp was allocated to grouch by 15.8N and faeoal Production by 1.8%.
